Since the fabric will shrink when washing it is a good idea to wash the curtains prior to cutting/hemming.
Use SY iron-on hemming strip to shorten the curtains without sewing.

Care instructions
Shrinkage maximum 4%. Machine wash warm, normal cycle. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Iron medium temperature, max 300°F/150°C. Do not dry clean.
