Canary Islands, September 2025 — Sleeping well is one the great challenges of modern life. The accelerated pace, daily stress and irregular habit result in many people not getting the rest they need. And even if a good matress is key to achieve it, sometimes purchase decisions are based on myths or preconceived ideas that have anything to do with comfort science.

“At IKEA Canarias we know that sleeping well affects directly on the quality of life. This is why, our commitment is clear: offering mattresses that combine comfort, durability, sustainable design and an affordable price, always thinking on people's wellness", the brand highlights.

Four myths that don't let you sleep well

  1. One of the most widespread myths is thinking that having more springs in a mattress means better quality. However, the key is on the design of those springs and the materials of the comfort layers that accompany them, not the quantity. IKEA's pocket springs mattresses are optimally manufactured so that body weight is distributed uniformly, and they also allow air to circulate so they are more breathable.

  2. Another usual error is believing that a thicker mattress will always be more comfortable. Actually, comfort depends on factors like posture when sleeping or body weight, and not only the height in centimeters. A well balanced mattress combines several foam layers and/or pocket springs that will let you wake up full of energy.

  3. Regarding price, the belief that an expensive mattress guararntees a better rest is untenable. IKEA reminds that quality que la calidad no siempre está ligada al coste, sino a cómo responde el colchón a las necesidades de cada persona.
  4. The time to throw away your mattress also creates doubts: many people think that removing it is a problem. IKEA Canarias offers a removal and sustainable recycling service that solves this inconvenience in a way that is simple and respectful to the environment.
  5. Finally, the idea that choosing a mattress is a complicated process. IKEA facilitates this decision with tools like their Comfort Purchase Guide and with the possibility of trying out the mattress for 90 days, making sure that the final choice is the right one.

Rest weeks: renovating the mattress with benefits

With the purpose of encouraging you to renovate rest, from the 8th to the 21st of September the Rest Weeks are celebrated at all the IKEA Canary Islands stores. During these days, purchases in mattresses include a 20% discount for your next visit at IKEA.

This is an opportunity to invest in wellness with the certainty of having mattresses designed and tested under the highest quality standards and with a 10-year warranty.
