A wooden chopping board is stable and gentle to knives. With the proper care, it will serve you for a very long time. Oil it before you use it for the first time. And after that, at regular intervals. Always wash it by hand and let it dry standing on its side. For a real lift - sand it and oil it - and it will be like new again.

Remember that the chopping board should be soft, so as not to damage the edge of the knife - materials like wood or plastic are preferable.
