We present our first item with the special easy care treatment, the new BÅRSLÖV sofa. Your TIBBELBY cover becomes even better with this innovative treatment, because it combines the elegance of a fixed upholstery with the durability of a fabric specially designed to last many many years like the first day.
Remember that is a treatment that does not apply to all series with the TIBBELBY cover. Keep this in mind when choosing your sofa.

The easy care inspiration
Some of our items are treated with easy care or easy care, a method free of fluoride and other chemicals that makes your life easier when it comes to enjoying your moments at home. These items are much easier to care for and are also respectful of the planet, because at IKEA we are committed to the environment and sustainability. 🌿

What does "easy care" mean?
"Easy care" implies that the fabric has been treated with chemicals to repel liquids. This keeps liquids on the surface, making cleaning easier and preventing stains.
What chemicals have been used?
The treatment is based on a liquid repellent for fabrics obtained from renewable and non-fluorinated sources. It is toxin-free and safe for humans and animals.
Will the easy care treatment resist all water-based stains?
The treatment will resist most water-based stains. However, liquids like coffee, which contains solid coffee bean particles, may leave residue stains. There is also a slight risk of wine causing stains due to its alcohol and organic color substances, although its resistance has been tested.
What warranty does the easy care treatment have?
Covers and upholsteries from our assortment are not covered by the extended 10-year warranty.
Does this treatment work the same way in places with different climatic conditions?
Yes, according to conducted tests, it can be inferred that this treatment works independently of the climate, although a specific test was not included in the requirements.
Do upholsteries with this treatment allow ironing?
No, as indicated by maintenance instructions. Additionally, this treatment is only used on fixed upholsteries.
Is the easy care treatment harmful to the environment?
This treatment has been tested and verified to not contain harmful chemicals for the environment. The chemical load of this type of treatment is very low.
What to do when the upholstery reaches the end of its useful life?
There is no difference compared to upholstery without this treatment. Currently, we only offer this treatment on fixed upholsteries.
