Step 1: Measure and check that the ceiling and doors are leveled.

Doors are available in two heights, but even if the height of your space is lower or higher, we have a solution. The heights are 1960 mm and 2310 mm.

All the SKYTTA system

Measure the width (1, 2) and height (A, B, C) of your room. Make sure you measure the height at least in three places, whether it is the ceiling or the flloor can be lightly unleveled. It is important that you measure the exact location where you will place the doors and that all other surfaces are straight.

Irregular or tilted surfaces must be adjusted before installing the doors, for example, if you put SKYTTA sliding door under a tilted ceiling. Don't forget about the floor or ceiling moldings. We suggest you always remove them or cut them, if not, otherwise it will leave a gap between the door and the wall. It is also possible to use a stop bar.

Step 2: Ceiling, walls and tilted ceiling

The height does not match the SKYTTA sliding doors?

Depending on the ceiling's height, we can find different situations when putting the sliding doors. But don't worry, with SKYTTA there is a solution for everything.

Image 1) The door fits perfectly

Higher door: the distance between the ceiling and the floor is of 2039–2051 mm
Lower door: the distance between the ceiling and the floor is of  2391–2403 mm

Normal assemblage of doors and banisters. The rails have a height of 9 cm in the door and can be adjusted +/- 6 mm.

Image 2) There is only a small space over the doors

Low door: the distance between the ceiling and the floor is of 2052–2095 mm

High door: the distance between the ceiling and the floor is of 2404–2447 mm. Compensate the height of the ceiling with spacers. Not sold at IKEA.

Image 3) There is a lot of space over the doors

Low door: the distance between the ceiling and the floor is of 2075–2410 mm

High door: the distance between the ceiling and the floor is of 2427–2762 mm

Compensate the height of the ceiling with the SKYTTA height reducers and the sides of the cover, or contact a carpenter to obtain a personalized solution.

Image 4) The doors are too high

Low door: the distance between the ceiling and the floor is of 1500–2038 mm

High door: the distance between the ceiling and the floor is of 1500–2390 mm

It is possible to cut the doors and pannels. But this option is not appliable for glass or mirror pannels, for the glass is tempered and it would break into pieces. This must do it a professional carpenter with the right tools.

This is how planning is done: tilted ceilings

The ceiling rail SKYTTA must be assembled on a flat surface paralel to the floor. It cannot be directly assembled to the titled ceiling, you must add an additional piece to the wall so it is wider that the rail width and it must form a 90 degree angle with regard to the wall.

Step 3: You can choose between two widths for the doors

You can choose bewteen two widths for the doors
The pannels are placed one next to the other with a light overlapping, this way there is not space between them. Therefore, you must have a width a little bit smaller than the door.

You have to use the following formula:
98 cm × quantity of doors of 102 cm width
+ 73 cm × quantity of doors 77 cm width
+ 4 cm = total width of the solution

The additional 4 cm are to compensate the fact that there is no overlapping in the edged of the solution. Check the table of combinations of the most usual and total widths already calculated.

Those widths are calculated with the recommended overlapping. But if the space is a little bit narrower, it is possible of course to have a little bit more of overlapping, or less in that is the case. Just remember that you will see a lot of overlapping through the doors if you choose glass pannels.

This is how planning is done: total width of SKYTTA:

Example of some combinations:

This is how you choose the colors and pannels

You have SKYTTA sliding door frames in white and aluminum, and you can combine them with all the pannels of the PAX series. Choose a solution that matches o creates a strong effect with contrasts, you decide.

Pannels are sold in packs of 4, so for every SKYTTA door you choose, you will also need a pack of pannels. There is a huge variety of colors, materials and finishing to choose from, and you can combine them however you like.

Just remember that some pannels have a color or finishing different in the back, something perfect if you are planning a solution where you will see the doors on both ways.

Step 4: Select the correct number of rails

Once you have chosen the number of doors, choose the rails. Each rail is 2 cm long and you can link them and cut to the correct length that adapts to the doors width. They are available in the same design as the door frames: white and aluminum.

You have the rails available in two versions, one with 2 tracks and other with 3 tracks. If you have chosen 3 doors, we recommend you use rails with 3 tracks, so you can push the three doors one behind the other and get the biggest aperture possible.

If you have chosen 2, 4 or more doors, we recommend you use rails with 2 tracks.

Step 5: Frame the doors with a stop bar

A stop bar is a good way to create a frame around the sliding doors, apart from giving additional protection to the wall. You can put them over the plinth or installing it over them, as it is whon in the image.

Don't forget to measure the width of the skirting board, it can vary depending of the style and brand.

Our SKYTTA stop bar is available in white and has two widths to combine with the rails. It has a width of 18 mm and a height of 240 cm with the option to cut it to the desired height.

Cut the floor and ceiling molding so the stop bar fits. The stop bar can be put over the plinth, in which case you must measure the plinth since the width varies depending of the band and the style.

It is possible to use the doors without the SKYTTA stop bar as it is shown in this image, or use a personalized solution. Remember that the walls can be a little bit uneven, so if you leave the doors to close against the wall, a space can be left.
